When buying an heirloom-quality item of vintage or antique origin, you are entering into deeply emotional purchase.
It can be the size of a seventeenth-century candelabra that sits atop your mantle or a mid-century Danish modern wall unit that commands the whole wall. Either way, these purchases can hold as much power and emotional value that you mold your entire wall, room, even house around them. Furniture can define us, make us feel, and help us express ourselves to the world we live in. Here at Slanehouse, we have entered into this deep relationship with each and every purchase we make. It joys us to be able to harness this passion when “out in the wild” as we say, treasure hunting to find perfect items that we hope will either spark the flame in you, or help continue the raging fire within. Once these items are carefully in our possession, we inspect them to determine how to move forward with the process of transitioning them into the homes of our customers. Some items need a little more love than others.
We refinish some items in-house, and some we will leave untouched. This method allows us to work with our customers in deciding how to move forward -- encouraging your input and vision towards the items to facilitate an even deeper connection with the piece. Slanehouse is a husband wife duo that started their adventure in 2019 with a newborn along for the ride shortly thereafter.
A new couple and a new passion that started with an estate sale outing has turned into small family business where we pride ourselves on quality, continuity, integrity, and sustainability. Along with these qualities, we work under a strong sense of family values and are striving to be in the rankings of like-minded C Corp’s that positively impact society and the environment.
